BEKASI (MKRI) — Secretary-General Heru Setiawan on Thursday and Friday, August 1-2, 2024 in the Court’s multifunction building in Bekasi City, West Java Province. In his speech, Heru mentioned that the Strategic Plan (Renstra) already has a thick draft, but there are still no signs of completion. "We already have the foundation from 2020-2024, but now it must be aligned with the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), in which the Constitutional Court (MK) has the target of implementing the RPJMN to strengthen the rule of law and stability," Heru stated.

He continued by emphasizing that the Strategic Plan must be completed by September 2024. The RPJMN being implemented involves support to strengthen the ideology of Pancasila, reinforcing political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms, strengthening the prevention and eradication of corruption, as well as the prevention of drug abuse, gambling, and smuggling.

"In my opinion, the most urgent matter to discuss is how we, with the authority we have, can realize and strengthen the ideology of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights. This is because there are many literacy experts here to refine the ideology of Pancasila, bureaucracy, and human rights, so that there is a derivative to achieve this," he explained.

Previously, the Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau of the Constitutional Court, Tatang Garjito, in his report, mentioned that this workshop was attended by 50 participants. The event will feature speakers from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

Tatang also mentioned that the event was temporarily halted because the Constitutional Court had to handle disputes over legislative election results. Tatang hopes that by next September, the Strategic Plan will be completed in a rough draft form that will then be reviewed by Bappenas and aligned with the RPJMN, which will later be approved by the President.

"So, this event must produce a rough draft that will be submitted and checked by Bappenas, and then it will be approved by the new President. And if there is a new review later, we will revise it again to match the Strategic Plan of the Constitutional Court, and then resubmit it to Bappenas to be aligned with the RPJMN approved by the new President, likely around December 2024," Tatang explained.
