TANGERANG (MKRI) — On Thursday- Saturday, September 21-23, 2023, the Constitutional Court held a workshop on risk management for the preparation of the 2024 General Election Results Disputes (PHPU) in Tangerang, Banten Province. Speakers from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and the Corruption Eradication Comission (KPK) gave presentations at the event.

Secretary-General Heru Setiawan said the participants are the people in charge of risk management. He reminded that mapped risks must be mitigated immediately. First, risk mitigation must establish integrity and it must be ensured that no violation of integrity occurs.

“Second, the goals (of the institution) are achieved as part of performance. The goals achieved through easy access and services for the public wherever they are, so that people will feel proud of the Constitutional Court,” Heru explained in front of 89 employees who participated in the three-day workshop.

Heru added that another element in risk mitigation is transparency. He emphasized that the most important element of risk mitigation is to produce excellent service. “When all have worked to mitigate the risk, whether this has gone well or not, it has to be planned from now on,” he said. He hoped this workshop can map risks so there would be no more loopholes.

Risk Management Guidelines

Next, in his presentation on Risk Management Guidelines No. 26.2 of 2023, junior auditor Dian Hapsoro mentioned several objectives of implementing risk management, including providing a deep understanding of organizational risk management in determining organizational plans and strategies; increasing the likelihood of achieving goals and improving performance; providing a strong basis for decision-making and planning; increasing stakeholders’ confidence; and increasing sensitivity to changing conditions both externally and internally and actions that must be done. “Encourage proactive management and improve the effectiveness of allocation and efficiency of organizational resources,” he added.

In the first session, Law Enforcement Supervision Coordinator of BPKP Nugroho Sri Danardono delivered a presentation on the identification and risk analysis. He said that because the 2024 Election is a big agenda, it is necessary to manage PHPU risk management in 2024.

“The Court has only implemented risk management at the operational level and has not moved to the strategic level. It must know what risks can threaten the settlement of PHPU in 2024.  After identifying, then an evaluation is carried out. After identification, there must be an effort so that risks do not occur,” he said.
