Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (The Court), Moh. Mahfud MD when serving as the preacher during the Idul Adha prayer in the Al Markaz Al Islami Jenderal M Yusuf Mosque, Makassar (17/11).

Jakarta, MKonline – On Wednesday, November 17, 2010, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Mahfud MD became the preacher during the Feast of Sacrifice (Idul Adha) prayer in the Al Markaz Al Islami Jenderal M Yusuf Mosque, Makassar.  In his preaching, Mahfud MD expected that the commemoration of this Idul Idha 1431 Hijriah would become the momentum of war against corruptors as the main enemies of the nation. "It is the corruptors that must be fought against in commemorating this Idul Qurban." said Mahfud.

Mahfud said that it was not external threat which threatened this country, but rather the internal threat of the nation in the form of injustice. In the past, the threats to the Indonesian nation were the Dutch, British, Japan and American colonialists. "Now, our enemy is injustice and we are being colonized by our own nation" stated Mahfud.

Mahfud asserted that injustice had been rampant and law could be sold and purchased, officials could be bought by corruptors. According to Mahfud, the current legal crime could destroy the State. This made our nation a dilapidated.

In his preaching, Mahfud also mentioned the moral decadence of the nation due to the weak legal system. The Indonesian state was being threatened not by the differences among religious faiths but due to unenforced law and justice, stated Mahfud before thousands of followers in Al Markaz.

Mahfud said "The Prophet said that a great nation can be destroyed because of a poor person being punished for a small mistake and esteemed people let free although guilty,". The Idul Adha prayer in Al-Markaz Mosque was also attended by former Vice President H. M. Yusuf Kalla and Regional Officials of South Sulawesi. (ddy)
