The dispute concerning the authority of the State Audit Board to audit court case charges at the Supreme Court has been settled. Through a mediation facilitated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Jimly Asshiddiqie, the Head of the State Audit Board Anwar Nasution and the Head of the Supreme Court Bagir Manan agreed to end the dispute concerning court case charges audit. Thereafter, the audit process mechanism shall be regulated by a government regulation.

Previously, the Head of the State Audit Board had reported to the National Police Headquarter, the objection of the Supreme Court Secretary towards the State Audit Board’s plan to conduct an audit at the Supreme Court. The Head of the State Audit Board had already planned to bring the case to the Constitutional Court for settlement. However, in some occasions, the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court emphasized to settle such dispute outside the court. “The President’s initiative is needed to facilitate the settlement of this dispute”, said Jimly to reporters at the Constitutional Court building, on Thursday (20/9).

On Saturday (22/9), the President facilitated a meeting between the Head of the State Audit Board and the Head of the Supreme Court to agree on audit mechanism towards the Supreme Court. The meeting held in the Presidential Office, Jakarta, was also attended by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court.
