The Constitutional Court in cooperation with Banyumas Regency government held an all night long shadow puppet show at Baturradden field in Banyumas, Central Java on Saturday (2/6). The shadow puppet show which was started at 21.00 was performed by puppet master Ki Daulat Darmo Carito presenting Wahyu Tejo Mulyo (Javanese literature) story.
The event was preceded by remarks from Constitutional Justice Dr. Harjono, SH., MCL and Vice Regent of Banyumas Drs. Imam Durori, M.Ag. In his remarks, Dr. Harjono conveyed that shadow puppet is a traditional local media which up to now is still considered as relatively effective to disseminate and enculcate information to the public. Through the shadow puppet show, according to Dr. Harjono, the public can absorb the values conveyed in the story, including the values of the constitution.
Previously, the Constitutional Court and Banyumas Regency Government held a Colloquium at the Vice Regentâs Office from 9:00 to 12:00 West Indonesia Time. The event was followed by a colloquium between the Constitutional Court with Civics teachers from throughout Banyumas Regency. In the two colloquiums, Dr. Harjono as a speaker explained the process of the formulation of amendments to the 1945 Constitution, the background of establishment of the Constitutional Court, as well as the functions and authorities of the Constitutional Court.
