The colloquium between the Constitutional Court (MK) and the Central Executive Board of the National Mandate Party (PAN) was a forum for communicating and comprehending the basic contents which are extremely useful for the implementation of the duties of the legislators in particular and the party’s members in general. This event was held not only for disseminating information about the major revisions in the Indonesian administrative system, but also as a forum for preparing the political parties to face the possible occurence on disputes on the results the upcoming 2009 Elections.

In his speech, the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Prof. Dr. Jimly Asshiddiqie, S.H. said, the objective of this colloquium was not only to know the Constitutional Court’s working mechanism. Furthermore, with the achievement of common perception regarding the law and the constitution, Jimly expects, this activity can assist in the future development of the the political parties’ function as providers of political education for the citizens. “Hopefully with this activity, we can also take part in developing the tradition of a constitutional democracy, based on the rule of constitution”, he explained.
